Welcome to trackthieves.com. This site is wholly owned and maintained by me, Richard Bauer. Opinions stated are mine. I have been around the horse racing game for many years. I have seen the game change from the “only game in town” to one that is struggling to stay alive (a few exceptions exist to the latter condition). The one thing that has not changed is the attitude of the game's controlling interests towards their primary customers, the horseplayers. We are viewed as objects to be manipulated in order to get our money but with no say in the way the industry operates. It's like, “Shut up and bet”, as if horse racing was still the only game in town and as if our money was some sort of entitlement to the industry.

This site seeks to stimulate change in the industry by getting horseplayers to become agents for change. If horseplayers do not take action against high takeout, small-field sizes, ADW wrangling and ancient, archaic practices, such as breakage, then those conditions will not change. Over the coming months as the site-building process is completed, I hope that you will find information that will be useful to you; and, I hope that you will take advantage of contact information that is provided and let your voice be heard.  Use the easy email signup form to add your name to our Protestors' Log.  Get the hardest part over now.  Get started!

This struggle did not begin yesterday; and, it will not end tomorrow. But, if enough of us get involved we can make a difference…..and, change will follow.

Thank you,

Richard Bauer

PS. Yes, I am the same guy who ran the Magna boycott for 13 months from January 2004 until February 2005. I had plenty of help with that project as horseplayers everywhere joined in and participated.  That was a successful effort and showed that horseplayers can work together and make a difference. We did it once. We can do it again.
